Hi, I’m Rebecca Bates, a dedicated and experienced dressage coach based at ekko equestrian in Warwickshire, committed to helping riders  achieving their goals while enjoying every step of the journey.

With a strong competitive background within British Dressage and experience competing nationally and internationally up to Inter I level -including the BD Under 21s system (ponies, juniors, and young riders) - I know what it takes to progress from grassroots to top-level competition.

As a qualified BD UKCC Level 3 Coach, BD Youth & Para Coach, and BEF NDCPE Coach, I offer structured, progressive, and supportive lessons tailored for riders of all ages and abilities. My focus is on building confidence, enhancing technical skills, and fostering a love for the sport. I have a particular passion for supporting youth riders, and I work extensively with para riders to create inclusive, empowering sessions.

 I believe in the power of learning outside the saddle. After each lesson, I provide homework and actionable takeaways to help you continue your progress.

My coaching philosophy is all about creating a positive, safe, and encouraging environment where you feel supported and empowered to achieve your goals. I believe in trust, open communication, and making sure that you enjoy the process as much as the results. I place a strong emphasis on nurturing the partnership between horse and rider, ensuring you both develop confidence, connection, and harmony together.
